Life Lately + Tobi Collaboration
Guys,
When I tell you... There have been some crazy highs and lows this summer. It's been a weird one haha But man-o-man are the highs worth celebrating.
About 8 months ago, I said to myself, Chels, it's time to start doing more of what you love. You have a voice, use it. Start collaborating with brands. Contribute to platforms you like. Take advantage of this time. It's work you enjoy. What's stopping you?
I was home in Houston. It was an especially hectic visit, and one afternoon, an email drops in my inbox, "The Coffey Break x Tobi Collaboration". As I open it, my little sister, Maddy, goes from 0-100. It was the cutest reaction. She was like, "Omg, Chels!! I love Tobi!! Unidays this, Unidays that." haha
Seeing it kind of kicked me back because it was the second or third invite I had received in less than 24 hours. Call it energy, call it favor, call it faith. There's something to be said about having a vision, and even more to be said about God working on your behalf even when you haven't made time to do it yourself.
The last few weeks have been filled with a couple of major transitions and breakthroughs, and as intense as each situation felt in the moment, when the smoke cleared I I could seen that is was simply the commotion of everything falling into place.
Whether you're in a storm, working your way out of one, or coming into one, the key is a blind faith and conviction that each and every time you'll come out on top.
I always say this, but there's something to be said about finding a win to keep your head up. The world may seem to be racing a million miles per minute, and I noticed that once I switch my attention to something positive, something I can be thankful for, it eclipses the bad for good (even if you have to do it 15 times throughout a day haha). If I know one thing for sure, big or small, gratitude is key.
Which leads to why we're here!
Whether it's in person, on video, or photo, storytelling is my most favorite pastime. I've teamed up with Tobi.com to share part my transition to Bed-Stuy through their fabulous pieces. Below you'll find a three part series highlighting the looks I pulled from the site.
When the pieces first came, totally smitten, I held up the long sleeve dress looked at Warren and said, "Babe, I'm wearing this one the next time I have sign a contract." I had no idea the dress was called "The Dreamer" when I was sitting there at the leasing office signing off on my new place haha
I can't say this enough. Set your intentions, make them known, and watch God work.
The best is yet to come. You just have to believe it's already on the way.
Sending so much love y'all's way! Photos below. Enjoy!
Xoxo -Chels
P.S. So much love to Warren and Nick for the amazing shots. You guys are the best. For real. Thank you, thank you thank you, thank you. *Sappy happy/sad dramatic face haha
